Ed Odenwalder Ed Odenwalder provides strategic direction and operational oversight to Top of Asia, a US-based investment company focused on communications and related technology opportunities in China. Through its joint venture with United Wireless based in Shenzhen, PRC, and its partner, China Netcom, Top of Asia is deploying broadband wireless access services in Zhejiang Province starting with the City of Hangzhou. During Ed’s 20-year tenure within the communications industry, he consistently has been at the forefront of applying new technologies to create operational efficiencies and open new markets. While obtaining B.S. and M.S. degrees from Colorado State University, he taught operations research and completed research projects for NASA, the Army Corp of Engineers and U.S. Forest Research. Ed’s communications experience began at McDonnell Douglas where he established a telecommunications engineering automation solutions business unit which served telecom operators throughout North America. Later, as Founder and President of Inform Worldwide, a technology services provider assisting telecom and utility companies, Ed interests turned to advanced applications of wireless communications technologies. Subsequently he led Inform’s introduction of Internet-based location services combining GPS and wireless communications. Just prior to forming Top of Asia, Ed served as Vice President of Corporate Development for Fluensee, a venture-backed RFID software company.
